Five (5) Reasons to Love Statement Earrings

Posted by

At some point in our life, most of us have all been guilty of following a trend. There were Bell Bottoms (both in the 70's and again in the 80's and 90's). Today tops with Bell sleeves are all over the fashion runways. The 80's had the choker craze which have recently returned with a vengeance. The 90's had full-on denim, floral dresses and scrunchies and the early 2000's saw the emergence of the peasant top, cargo pants (for women), layered tank tops and asymmetrical jersey skirts.

The thing about trends is that they come and go so quickly that it's hard sometimes to keep up! By the time you've "given in" and decided to join the trend, it's over and the industry has moved on to something else!

One trend that has made a comeback is the Statement Earring. Baubles and Fringe earrings are everywhere and come in the most fun and out-there colours. These earrings ladies are not for the shy-type! Check out a few of our Statement Earrings below....

There are so many different styles and colours to choose and they're all so pretty that it can actually be a little overwhelming. To make the decision a little easier for you, we've put together a list of some helpful tips when choosing your statement earrings:

(1) Less is More! You do not need to wear a necklace with these. Depending on the size of the earring, avoid wearing anything close to the neck that will overwhelm your face.

(2) Be Bold. Kinda sounds like we're contradicting ourselves from the tip above, but If you are going to try this trend, be bold with it! Try a fun colour or a long drop earring.

(3) Avoid being too matchy! If you are wearing a pink dress, try wearing a cream or gold toned earring. Too much matching can look overwhelming to the eye.

(4) Choose a length or size that suits your face. If you have a round or square face, try an earring that is long and narrow. If you have an oval face, lucky you, you can try any shape!

(5) Experiment with your hair! That's right, you bought 'em so show them off! Try a high ponytail or a messy bun to show off those pretty new earrings.

So tell us, what do you think of this style trend? Will you try it?
